We (my family) have decided to start a Ministry of building and adding value to Seventh-Day Adventist church buildings in Tanzania and beyond upon God’s call. We believe it has been God’s purpose to open us to several projects of funding, designing, repairing, supervising and contributing in other ways (Suguti, Mbaga, Chalinze, Makongo, Nyamato, etc) so as to increase space for worshippers, to bring services closer to those seeking to know God, to show Christian priorities particularly in erecting and repairing houses of worship.
We give this ministry the name BEZALEEL (Exodus 31:2-11; 36:1-3), after God’s servant in the building of the tabernacle of the congregation (Exodus 25-31; 36-40).
The resources for the Ministry shall be collected from “everyone that giveth it willingly with his/her heart” in accordance with the word of God: Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering (Exodus 25:2).
The workers will be as God commanded: “Then wrought Bezaleel and Aholiab, and every hearted man, in whom the LORD put wisdom and understanding for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the LORD had commanded (Exodus 36:1)”.
See, I have called by my name Bezaleel the son of Uri the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah and I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, To devise cunning works, to work in Gold, and in Silver, and in brass, and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship (Exodus 31:2-5).
Bezaleel is hereby inaugurated following a call, such as this. The Ministry shall be under my directorship, Furaha Ngeregere Lugoe, with close support of my wife, Grace and our children.
And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it (Exodus 25:8, 9).
Our experience with building churches in Suguti District of Mara Conference, led by Pastor Ezekiel Zenge, is that quality churches attract people to Jesus and it is necessary that a church building should be erected every where a church company has been established.
This is a basic need. Statistics are not available on this need but by counting existing companies, we can all agree that the need is enormous. The building ought to be good looking, and not just any building. The chairs should reflect the beauty of the building. Where two or three congregate, God is there also says the LORD. Where should we invite our LORD?
And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses. And they came, everyone whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD’S offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holly garments (Exodus 35:20, 21).
